BEST IN SHOW
Judge: Michael Masters (Manchela)

Best in Show: Bannister’s TA AN NEIFINN AT BANYSUN (Irish Water Spaniel)

Super, smart young bitch that impressed me for her unexaggerated breed type and balance. She is ideal for size, made so well which movement confirmed with the correct drive and reach, holding a level topline. Strong and deep in front assembly with hindquarters to match, well ribbed back in body, wide and deep in loin, topped off with a quality jacket.

RBIS: Hardcastle and Bradley’s VIZSLANYA SZIENA JW (Hungarian Vizsla)

Quality bitch with a cracking headpiece, reachy neck to correct front with plenty of depth to brisket. Mature in body with good spring of rib and firm muscle tone to her quarters. Moved sound and graceful with great head carriage holding a striking shape in profile.

BIS3: Nelson’s CADWST ETERNAL FLAME (Golden Retriever)

Lovely bitch with feminine head and dark pigmentation, striking outline on the stack showing her beautiful angles and balance, kept her shape well on the move. Appealed for breed type, in tip top condition, moved sound with great reach and drive.

BIS4: Schoneville and Derry’s BALVENIE BLUE SENSATION (English Setter)

Blue boy with appealing head and expression, standing four square with lovely breed type and balance throughout, strong in front construction, well ribbed with good depth. Sound on the move and at one with his handler putting in a great performance in this quality line up.

Best Puppy In Show

Stephen’s RAVENHO UPTOWN GIRL FOR BRIGHTMEADOW (Curly Coated Retriever)

Impressive youngster that filled my eye for her beautiful overall breed type, elegance and balance. Spot on for her age, typical wedged shape head and soft expression, crisp in outline, seamless construction and faultless movement. I will watch her progress with interest.

RBPIS: Moss’s EWTOR BARKING AT THE MOON (Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla)

Cracking upstanding dog that pushed winner all the way. Loved his size, make and shape and didn’t disappoint on the move. Correct body covered in a quality harsh jacket. Another that will make his presence felt I am sure.

PG3: William’s WISTASTON ALL ABOUT LOVE (Flat Coat Retriever)

Feminine bitch that appealed very much for breed type, size and ring presence. Pretty head with lovely expression, well made front with good depth for her age, correct in body and hindquarters to match. Moved sound with good extension both ends.

PG4: Morris’s RIONDEL SOLITAIRE (Cocker Spaniel)

Pretty blue bitch that gave her handler a hard time but just did enough to earn her place. Appealing in head and eye, well made front, good spring to rib, short in loin and good angles behind. Moved sound when settled.

Best of Breed Crellin’s AALINCARREY LET’S SING

Puppy (6,2)
1st Williamson’s SHAROUNS INSPECTOR GADGET BPIB
A super quality 9 month yellow Dog , who has won well for himself and it was not hard to see why. Even though he was being a tad over exuberant upon arrival this did not deter from his super breed type , well boned frame , balance and movement. He’s short coupled, with a good length of leg , coupled with a beautiful male head with a kind expression and good eye colour. To top the overall picture a correct double coat with a super top line and otter tail. An excellent puppy whom I sure will do well as he progresses in age and maturity. A worthy BP and pulled into the last group for BPIS well done.
2nd Manning’s OVERMARSH SEVENTH HOUR
7 month Bitch – another quality exhibit , stood fore square, lovely feminine head with a kind eye and expression , excellent rear construction that gave that lovely aerial view of the correct triangular shape , which was enhanced by the correct tail set that just filled the picture. It brought back great memories of my early days in Labradors ,1981 , and the training my mentors of the day gave me in relation to breeding type to bring about that shape , Mary Roslin Williams , Didi Hepworth and Margaret Litherland; it’s no mean feat to getting that balance right with a super strong back end to bring about drive and balance to be complement by a well constructed front . I am sure she will only get better as she matures.
3rd Smith’s MEADOWLINE HEARTBREAKER
4th Thompson’s MEADOWLINE SMILE FOR ME

Junior (5,3)
1st Nuttall and Topping’s GAMBLEGATE TILLY TUPPENCE
13 month yellow Bitch – that has that lovely old fashioned quality , well proportioned feminine head and eye colour which just gave her that lovely expression, stood fore square , lovely tail set and top line , excellent length of leg which just completed her overall balance. Moved with drive.
2nd D’Arcy’s LANCASTRIA ALEXIE
Not placed in puppy, a tad overwhelmed so did not give off her full potential , a smaller type to the winner , she was covered in that lovely rich old fashioned deep yellow coloured correct coat , lovely head and expression , hopefully time will be kind and she’ll grow on , to reach her full potential.

Graduate (6,2)
1st Gower’s AUGHTONCHASE HONEY PIE
A beautiful feminine Bitch that just stood out for me, a lovely balanced show girl , super size with plenty of length of leg that just crowned her balance , super shoulder placement that showed off her super correct length of neck topped with an enchanting stunning feminine head coupled with a kind expression and good pigmentation. Moved with drive around the ring and was highly considered in the challenge.
2nd Jones’s LEMBAS TIANA AT SERENJAR
A beautiful classic black bitch. A melting feminine head set upon a super neck and correct shoulder placement . A really treat to go over, excellent top line coupled with a good tail set, correct jacket , lovely bone, well shaped feet and moved with such drive and vibrance. Unlucky to meet the winner but a well worthy placing.

1st Crellin’s AALINCARREY LET’S SING BOB
A yellow dog, and did he sing his heart out with the song ..”LOOK AT ME “ and we all sure did. A real show stopper. He just exudes quality, breed type , coupled with a stallion masculine stature without being overdone in any shape or form. This was only confirmed when I put my hands on him. He has a stunning handsome head coupled with a kind expression that just shouts out I’m a male. Such kind eyes that make you smile constantly as you’re assessing him. He moved with zest covering the floor with style by using his hocks to drive him to his full potential. Lovely top-line coupled with a correct tail set and a super double coat. It was a privilege to award him BOB in a highly competitive final line up. Well done . I hope he goes on to greater justly deserved award’s.
2nd Long’s CARPENNY PHEYA AT BALDEVS
A beautiful black bitch – a quality unassuming bitch that just had to be considered. A lovely kind appealing feminine correct head with lovely eye colour. He looked like he was just coming back into coat and his tail wasn’t as fully covered as I’d of liked so this cost him in the challenge . Overall a very nice dog.
2nd William’s TRICYMOEDD SNIPES WHISPER
Dark yellow dog – an interesting type to assess against the breed standard. He stood out for being different in the show ring but I’m sure he can do a great days work in the field. He was a very big dog with long legs and a shallow body. He had a masculine head coupled with a lighter eye colour that didn’t proffer that melting kind Labrador head and expression. Moved ok. Good coat and but unfortunately carried his tail well above his top line.

Open Bitch (9,4)
1st Williamson’s SH CH SHAROUNS VICTORIA’s SECRET JW RBOB
A beautiful classic yellow Bitch – there is no denying she is a champion . Reminded me so much of the great Poolstead kennel girls . Lovely melting expression with good length of muzzle and a kind eye. Lovely lay of shoulder ,good reach of neck and excellent rear compilation which ensured a correct tail set and allowed her to flow freely on the move using her hocks to her advantage . Just not quite in full bloom today so lost out to the BOB winner but a well deserved RBOB.
2nd Hughes’s ALLANINE’S ON THE SEA SHORE
A short coupled correctly constructed Bitch that just demands to be given that second look. Correct coat and lovely otter tail. Not flashy but a true Labrador with an excellent temperament, stands fore square on good boned legs and lovely feet. Super top line and movement.
3rd Jones’s LEMBA FAITH AT SERENJAR
An excellent classic Bitch from this top kennel . I’m pleased to say she was Best Veteran in show. Stood out for quality and confirmation. Her top line was something to admire. A beautiful Bitch. Well done.
4th Newton’s MEADOWLINE MAD ABOUT YOU FOR RALYVILLE
Black bitch – and I was really mad about you , another stunning example of a top quality classically bred Bitch who like third was also a veteran and the both of them are an excellent template for new entrants. Thank you ladies for bringing 2 quality exhibits to the show.

Strong neck leading to well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm, held his topline both on the move and standing. Excellent rich red coat, good bone and so well-muscled throughout. Moved well. Considered in the challenge but was a little more unsettled by that point however I’m sure his day will come. Pleased to award him Best Puppy.

6yr old dog. Darker pigmented male, correct head. Good strong neck leading to well-placed shoulders. Nice depth of chest and firm loin. Balanced front and rear angulation. Good bone, well-muscled and excellent strong hocks. He is not the flashiest of dogs however he is so well balanced, stood squarely presenting a great profile and on the move he displayed drive, accuracy and the typical jaunty attitude. Very well earned Best of Breed.
2nd Adshead’s AFONBACH WINTER IS COMING
5yr old dog. Of a different type to 1. Masculine head of good proportions with correct eye and well set ears. Very good front assembly well sprung ribs and elbows close to body. Firm topline and correct rear angulation. Very well made and casts a lovely outline, could easily swap places with 1 however he was rather distracted on the day which consequently cost him a higher placing.
