BEST IN SHOW
Judge: Claire Sharp (Affilato)
Best in Show: Bradley’s SH CH STANEGATE STAGE DEBUT SHCEX
This 5-year-old bitch just didn’t put a foot wrong. She has the most beautiful head & expression, good neck and shoulders with good return of upper arm. Correct topline & tailset, ribs well back, short loin and a strong rear. In excellent condition. Super coat. It would have been criminal to deny her the top spot today.

RBIS: Stephens’ BRIGHTMEADOW RUMOUR HAS IT JW
A handsome 2-year-old presented in tip-top condition. He is balanced, nicely constructed and in excellent coat. Moved really well.

BIS3: Moore’s FANTASTIC FIELD SHINE LIKE A DIAMOND AT GADHELIC JW
A very attractive 2-year-old bitch. Well made all through and in gleaming condition. I liked her in profile and was delighted when she was just as good going away and coming towards.

BIS4: Turnbull’s GLENQUIN THE COLONEL AT ELAGRAM
The most beautiful head & expression. I wouldn’t want him any bigger but this is an impressive dog, in excellent jacket and with decent angles front and rear. He covered the ground with drive and accuracy. Made his handler work for this place!

Best Puppy In Show
BPIS: Harrion’s GLENBROWS GALANTHUS
When this youngster was on the table, I knew it would be tough for any other puppy to get past him for BPIS. He has a super head, expression. Ears set on correctly and of good length. He is compact with big ribs and a short loin and he is well angulated front and rear. He moves beautifully and is presented in immaculate condition.

RBPIS: Gordon-Smith and Bibby’s BRUXINHO GINKO BILBOA
This boy was just six months. So much to like about him. He is balanced, well-constructed and showed me his excellent, accurate ground-covering movement. Super coat and in excellent fit condition.

BP3: Harrison’s TWINKLE TURNING HEADS
See WSS

BP4: Byrne’s ENRYB PURPLE PEOPLE EATER
I wouldn’t want this handsome boy any bigger but I really liked the shape and make of him. He is so nicely put together and moves really accurately.

1st Foulton’s SEASHAM NIGHT NURSE BOB, BPIB
These were both very nice puppies, 1st was just more accurate on the move and was happier. A lovely feminine head with correct bite. I would have preferred a slightly darker eye but she’s young so still has time for this to alter. Good depth and width of chest. Plenty of upperarm and good shouder angulation. Correct square outline. Good rear angulation. Harsh coat. Moved really well from all directions, very accurate with plenty of rear and drive.
2nd Brown and Filby’s DESJEN REBEL REBEL
A very similar type to 1st, feminine head, good ear set and nice dark eyes. Square in outline. Good shoulder and rear angulation. A strong loin. Was a little unsure on the move which could easily have been down to the venue.

1st Jones’s GERMANUS HOTWYR MONARO
A nice dog with a very masculine head. Good shoulder angulation. Plenty of depth and width of chest. Correct topline and a little longer than square. Would prefer a slightly shorter loin. Good rear angulation. Harsh wire coat. He wasn’t enjoying the venue and was very fidgety and wouldn’t settle on the move either.
2nd Geary’s BECKA DREAMS OF LITTLE PRINCE AT GERMANUS
This bitch also wasn’t enjoying the venue and was hunching when stacked (held the correct topline on the move though). Nice head, strong neck. Not bad shoulder angulation. Strong loin. Harsh coat. Rear angulation was ok. Was erratic on the move. Didn’t perform today and I’m sure she will show better elsewhere.
Open (5,1)
1st Turnbull’s GLENQUIN THE COLONEL AT ELAGRAM JW BOB
A very impressive black and white male. No mistaking his masculine head, correct dentition and a nice dark eye. Plenty of depth and width of chest. Good length of upper arm. Longer than square, with the correct sloping topline and not too much tuck up. Good rear angulation. A really good harsh coat. Moved really well with plenty of rear and drive the ring just wasn’t big enough for him.
2nd Geary’s SH CH GERMANUS STANDS OUT A MILE
A nice bitch. Feminine head with correct ear set and correct bite. Good depth and width of chest but not the front angulation of first. Longer than square. Good coat. Good rear angulation. Moved well.

1st Goddard’s JORBY ETERNAL FLAME AT GLANSEVERN
Mid golden boy at 10 months old, still very much a baby puppy but lots of promise. Typical head with correct soft expression. Lovely length of neck into a level topline which he held on the move. Well boned and stood on correct cat like feet. Shoulders well laid back, with good return of upper arm, correct depth of chest. Moved well, although felt he could have done with a larger ring to give him chance to settle. BPD.

1st Liggins and Hodges’ SWANAVLY POPSY’S LEGACY AT NUNSBROOK
My first note here stated ‘would like to see him move in a bigger ring’. This 3 year old pale golden dog, is balanced throughout in good coat and condition. He has a masculine head with correct soft expression into a neck of good length and level topline. His shoulders are well laid back with corresponding return of upper arm. Good dept of chest and well sprung ribs. Carries his tail high when on the move but covered the ground well.
Open Dog (4,2)
1st Williams’ CESARKA SHANTY SEA BOB
This 4 year old male is maturing well. He is well moved throughout presenting a balanced picture. He is one that would have really benefitted from a large ring as it was difficult for him to maintain his stride, however he did cover the ground well should both good reach and drive of movement. Correct lay of shoulder and good return of upper arm, he is well boned with cat like feet. His rear angulation matches that of the front and is well muscled with a good second thigh. Best Dog and BOB.
2nd Liggins and Hodges’ SILVER PASSION GLAM FASHION AT NUNSBROOK JW
Another that was well made throughout pushed 1 hard in the class. The tail carriage of 1st on the move was preferable. This boy again had correct head and expression with good front assembly and corresponding rear. With a deep chest, well boned and cat like feet. He moved well covering the ground but carries his tail slightly high.

1st Hooton’s JORBY EVERLASTING LOVE AT PENTICHARM BPIB
Jorby Everlasting Love at Penticharm. Litter sister to PD. Mid gold and feminine throughout providing a well-balanced picture for one so young. Lovely head and expression with correct dark eye. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, placing her feet well under and she stands on neat cat like feet. Good rear angulation with nice bend of stifle. She has a level topline and correct tail set both of which she carries well on the move. BPB and BPiB.

1st Loverock’s LOVISSA SEEING STARS
Loved this girl as soon as she entered the ring, she might have been the only one entered but oozes ring presence. She is just out of puppy and exactly where she should be for her age regarding development. Perhaps not in her best clothes today but this only confirmed that there was nothing to hide. Lovely correct feminine head with dark eye and expression. Good length of neck into a level topline and correct tail set. Her shoulders are well laid back with correct return of upper arm, tight elbows. All of this allows her front legs to be placed well under, and standing on neat cat like feet. She was able to cover the ground well showing good reach and drive, another that would have benefitted from a larger ring to be able to really show her movement. Best Bitch

She has good lay of shoulders and return of upper arm allowing her legs to be placed well under. Level topline which she carried on the move. Good depth of ribs, into a well angulated rear end. Moved well but preferred the tail carriage of 1st on the move.

Another lovely bitch in good coat and condition. Correct head and expression, along with dark eyes. Good length of neck into a level topline and correct tail set. In gleaming condition, he was a little erratic on the move at first but soon settled to demonstrate excellent, sound, ground-covering movement. He’s only going to get better too!
2nd Harrison’s GLENBROWS AURORA
Plainer than her flashier kennelmate who took the class but I preferred her head & expression. She is well-made all through, just needs maturity to finish the picture. Moved well.

1st Langley’s AMARRAINTE BOB
Portuguese Pointer. This is a nice bitch with a pleasing head. She is nicely constructed and in lovely condition. She has good bone and feet but needs her nails trimming! She moved well but very obviously needed a bigger ring.

Gordon Setter. Very nice in outline and a lovely head. Good topline/tailset. Ribs well back, short loin. In lovely condition. Moved really well.
2nd EKKOLANDER PERSEPHONE RED AT LERITON
Large Munsterlander. I liked her in profile but she is a little wide coming towards. Another in hard, fit muscular condition.

1st SH CH AFONBACH WINTER IS COMING JW SHCEX OSW VW BVIS
What a super NSDTR this is. He is in fabulous condition and certainly doesn’t look like a veteran! He has a lovely head & expression, he is well-constructed all through and he moved beautifully. He totally deserved to top this class.
2nd LOGANRISH LETS GO CRAZY
I initially thought this handsome Irish Setter would win the class as he is so balanced and correct in outline. He has a good neck & shoulders, good topline and a well-angulated rear. Moved well in profile, just close coming towards.

1st SONNETEND BROTHERS IN ARMS
Field Spaniel. Easily the best mover in this class. He needs maturity but everything is where it needs to be. The most gorgeous head/expression. Super bone and feet. Presented in excellent condition and handled to his full potential.
2nd CULCRIEFFS FERNLOWER GLEN OF WETNOSES
The first word I wrote in my notes for this boy is naughty! An exuberant FCR who was thoroughly enjoying his day out. He has an excellent head, dark eyes and in the fleeting moments where he stood still, he presented a really smart outline. Moved a touch erratically but he is sound.
3rd JORBY EVERLASTING LOVE AT PENTCHARM
4th CRINCOED HIGHER LOVE
5th LERITON CORVUS ASTRON

1st Donnelly’s – German Wirehaired Pointer
Both lovely examples of their breed, they moved in unison. In hard muscular condition and in excellent harsh coats.
2nd Adshead’s – Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
A very nice pair who made a super brace. I just felt the GWPs were more harmonious on the move.
